British actress plays the worst Quebec accent in Netflix's Le Serpent
Netflix's The Serpent series is quite successful and receives excellent reviews. The only problem that many point out is the Quebec accent of British actress Jenna Coleman, who personifies Marie-Andrée Leclerc. Listening to excerpts from Catherine Beauchamp's chronicle at 98,5FM, one notices an accent more French than Quebecois.

Some comments:
Le Serpent is nice but there's one thing that makes us phew it's that Monique / Marie-Andree is supposed to be from Quebec, but the go speaks French with an English accent ??! Mdr it loses all credibility wesh had to cast a francophone or do a dubbing

Actress Jenna Coleman plays Quebecois Marie-Andrée Leclerc in the mini-series @netflix "The snake". And let's face it, even if its Quebec accent is COMPLETELY missed 🤷🏽♂️ this luxury production is still worth seeing. pic.twitter.com/DN8eAw3FRG

Monique in Le Serpent is from Quebec but she speaks French with the same accent as an Englishwoman would speak French so no Quebec accent at all disturbs me

The Quebec accent imitated by the French = French people who speak "old French". Not even close. Latest example to date: Marie-Andrée Leclerc's mother on the phone in the series "Le Serpent"

Only downside: Jenna-Louise Coleman is perfect when she plays in English, incomprehensible when she speaks in French (she plays Marie-Andrée Leclerc, Quebecer, in love and accomplice of the snake) 🤷🏻♀️ #The snake

The character played by Tahar Rahim in The Serpent is chilling. On the other hand, I have absolutely nothing against Jenna Coleman, on the contrary, but an Englishwoman to play a Quebecer? Sometimes you can guess what she is saying more than you can understand.

Monique's false French-Quebec accent in Le Serpent, another actress who speaks phonetic French. I like Jenna Coleman, but if we can hire Tahar Rahim, can we choose a Quebec actress? Nope ? pic.twitter.com/q6sb5UCqx1

Jenna Coleman who plays the role of a Quebecer in #The snake @NetflixFR with an English accent to cut with a knife, it makes me drop
Sometimes it would even take subtitles to understand it 😮- Mickaël Desportes (@mikadoors) April 8, 2021
The snake on Netflix, sloppy. An Englishwoman to play a Québécoise with an accent slammed on the ground. The Dutchman who gets angry for nothing. Nobody has normal reactions in this series and the dialogues are nuuuuuuls. Facepalm in each episode it was painful

The girl who plays Monique in #The snake it's catastrophic his way of speaking French. They could have taken a real Québécoise
